British Textile Week 2021

By 20th September 2021 No Comments

On 13th September, UKFT (United Kingdom Fashion & Textile Association) launched British Textile Week 2021, to provide a digital showcase of the craftsmanship, creativity and technical skills of the UK textile industry.

British Textile week 2021 is coordinated by UKFT, and supported by The Clothworkers’ Company, and Campaign for Wool.

The theme this year is ‘New Horizons’, which celebrates the creative concepts that UK textile companies have developed for a post-pandemic world. UKFT have captured some of the most interesting and dynamic manufacturers, brands and designers throughout the UK textile industry.

‘‘The sector has an international reputation for quality, genuine craftsmanship and an authentic backstory, but in a year where local sourcing and transparent supply chains have become even more important, UKFT would encourage domestic fashion designers and interior brands to look again at what UK textiles have to offer’’

Each day, UKFT shared a different focus, including companies from British Apparel Textiles, Interior Textiles, Technical Textiles, Textile Designers and British Yarn Producers. You can find the content here, along with our company profile.

As well as images, interviews and interesting facts about the companies involved, UKFT shared a snapshot of some of the latest design developments in UK Textiles in their feature Hot Off The Loom. This included a preview of a selection of designs from our latest AW22 Men’s and Ladieswear Collections, plus you can learn more from our Sales Team about how we develop our collections here.

Additional content included a Roundtable Discussion with a panel of industry leaders, which we were delighted to be part of. For more from the companies involved, make sure you are following textiles.ukft and UKFTorg on Instagram and Twitter #britishtextileweek and #britishtextileweek21

We would like to thank UKFT for the opportunity to be involved, it was fantastic to see such a celebration of the industry we are proud to be part of.
